Why Calcerra exists

Most calculator sites on the web are buried under ads, dark patterns, and vague disclaimers — and many quietly produce wrong answers. Calcerra was built to be the opposite: every calculator shows the formula, names the standard it follows, and surfaces the assumptions you can change. If a result depends on a tax bracket, a body-mass index threshold, or a loan amortization rule, you can see exactly which one and why.

How calculators are built

Every formula is a pure, tested function — given the same inputs it returns the same output — and is covered by an automated test suite. The maths is separated from the interface so the underlying calculation can be verified independently of how the result looks. Standard sources are cited where applicable: WHO for BMI, Mifflin-St Jeor for BMR, ISSN for protein, IOM for water intake, IRS for tax brackets, and so on. For more detail, see our Methodology page.

Who runs the site

Calcerra is an independent project run by a small team of software engineers and product designers based in the United States. The site is not affiliated with any bank, broker, healthcare provider, government agency, or other institution. Calculators are built from public formulas and standards.

How Calcerra is funded

Calcerra is free to use and supported by display advertising served by Google AdSense. Ads help cover hosting, development, and the time spent keeping calculators current. We do not sell user data, run sponsored calculators, or accept payment to skew results. The numbers you type into a calculator are never shared with advertisers — they stay in your browser, as described in our Privacy Policy.

What Calcerra is not

Calcerra is an estimation and education tool. It is not a substitute for professional financial, tax, legal, or medical advice. Real-world figures depend on factors a calculator cannot know — your specific lender's rates, your local rules, your full medical history, your individual circumstances.
